Overview

The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public-policy organization focused on improving public-company auditing in the United States. As such, The company’s existing digital experience made it difficult to effectively communicate the brand's messaging and mission. Financial and accounting topics needed to be presented in a more approachable and engaging way, while the site needed a stronger way to communicate CAQ’s mission and advocacy work.

Solution

I helped translate the new information architecture and content strategy into a cohesive UI/UX system designed to work across CAQ's massive resource and article library. This provided a stronger foundation for navigating and discovering nearly 2,000 migrated pieces of legacy content.

While the technical aspects of the project were important, equally so, were the visuals. Using CAQ’s core brand identity, we strengthened the website’s color palette and accented content and information with dotted lines that bend and flow through the page, akin to the flow of money and commerce. With these features, the site’s new design is well balanced and creates a professional and creative digital experience that is easy to engage with.

Results

A more engaging and accessible digital experience, the redesigned CAQ website created a stronger connection between the organization's mission, its data, and its extensive library of resources. With a 293% increase in engagement time-on-site, visitors spent significantly more time engaging with the new experience after launch.

Over 2,000 pieces of legacy content were migrated into the new visual style and aligned with the new sitemap, making the resource library easier to navigate and maintain.

Once the site was live, custom templates, reusable experiences, and data visualization capabilities were given to CAQ for the continued publishing and communication of complex information.
